your own business, which is easier or faster to achieve?
Our experience enables us to deliver
innovative IEM opportunities by focusing on the often ignored areas of
your business. How?
-
We Listen to Your Concerns and
Priorities. We offer a wide range of solutions but only you know
the culture, environment, and priorities. Most of our new solutions
were driven by client requests or industry trends.
-
We Produce Auditable Results.
We focus on finding savings via your indirect expenditures, i.e.,
those costs that make up a large percentage of your budget that you
don’t have the time to scrutinize. These areas usually include
accounts payable recoveries, telecom, healthcare insurance, business
insurance, utilities, freight, tax credits, and general procurement
requirements found in every company.
-
We Use the Right Skill and Right
Partners. Every spend category requires specific knowledge and
processes. No one process works for all types of spend. No one skill
ensures lower costs without negatively impacting your business. We
combine knowledge, experience, processes, and teaming with you to
ensure the right solutions are being recommended.

IEM Target:
Health Insurance
A physician practice was facing a 50% health insurance premium increase
due to increased prior year insurance payouts. The approach was to
create competition and wider options than had previously been presented.
The result? Premium reductions of 13% for health, 45% for life, 28% for
LTD, 4% for dental, and 100% for vision. Additionally, the process was
begun for adding consumer driven plans for the following year for
additional savings.
IEM Target: Telecom
A manufacturer was facing increasing commodity costs. They chose to
begin working with IEM in a telecom review. The approach was to perform
a complete review of the existing network, technical requirements,
contracts, and future technology requirements. The result? Telecom cost
reductions of 43% with improved contract terms and cellular savings of
34%. Additionally, the client was scheduled to begin a review of VoIP
for phase two. Future cellular requirements and policies were also
created to further reduce future equipment costs while providing sales
the tools needed to increase productivity.
IEM Target: Utilities
A medium manufacturer was determined to optimize their competitive
positioning through cost reviews. They chose to begin working with IEM
in an utilities technical and payment review. The approach was to bring
in a certified engineer with over 30 years of similar experience to
perform a detailed analysis of plant, distribution center, and office
requirements. The result? 23% cost savings opportunities. Over half were
immediately implemented with the rest (requiring high ROI project
investments) being planned for the following budget year. Additionally,
two of the recommendations were designed to significantly improve
employee satisfaction and productivity.
IEM Target: Freight
A major international company wanted to identify cost-saving
opportunities for global transportation and distribution services. A key
parameter was a top-down edict that no employee was to be downsized or
outsourced. IEM introduced a paradigm shift in how the client worked
with its major suppliers, and how to renegotiate profitable contracts in
difficult environments. The program included new approaches to contract
negotiations, personnel training, change management, and quality. The
result? Cost savings 25% for air, 8% for rail, 40% for marine, and 18%
for over-the-road carriers. And, all employees remained intact.
IEM Target: Procurement and Supply Chain Improvements
A major IT manufacturing company also provided networking service
solutions and felt that their supply chain and procurement department
needed assistance. A key objective was to improve competitive advantage
and responsiveness to the sales force. After review, a complete process
reengineering, supplier optimization, and implementation was completed.
The result? Cost savings of 13%, obsolescence reductions of 50%,
inventory reductions of 35%, productivity improvements of 700%, and
procurement cycle time from 21 days to 24 hours.
